ILLINOIS CONNECTIONS: ASSISTING VETERAN & MILITARY FAMILIES – Survivors

Losing a loved one in service to our country is heartbreaking but it can also be very confusing for surviving families to understand all of the military and state benefits to which they may be entitled. HDA works closely with the Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) and are available to help survivors understand when civilian resources might be helpful to them and how to coordinate those civilian services and benefits with military benefits.

Through the newly formed Illinois Families of Fallen Service Member Task Force, HDA is coordinating with SOS as well as other agencies around Illinois to create a series of workshops for survivor families.

The first event, Connections at Cantigny: Brining Families of the Fallen Together, will be held on September 25, 2010 from 10:00 am  - 4:00 pm at Cantigny Park, 1 s 151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, IL 61089.  To register for the event call 312-726-1008.  Click here to see the event's flyer
